Being Punctual Does Have Its Rewards

You know how gigs almost always starts late 'sebab crowd takda'? Well this time we are motivated to change that attitude. Here's the deal - we are offering the audience a 15 minute window from the moment the first scheduled band plays to buy your tickets at a 20% discounted rate then the advertised entry price. And if you buy tickets 15 minutes before the first scheduled band is to play, you'll get 33.3% off. Do the math, the discount's more then enough to buy drinks at Hartamas Square or maybe a pack of ciggies.

Let us clarify that again - we have stated that the doors open at 7.15PM and the first band is slotted to start at 7.30PM. Between 7.15PM and 7.30PM, if you buy tickets you'll get the 33% discount. Between 7.31PM and 7.45PM, you are entitled to a 20% discount. After 7.46PM, you will have to fork out the advertised entrance price.

Yes, we pay you to be punctual.

We are trying to be a stickler for promptness here. We are trying our best to organize a well-run show that starts on time with minimum intermission delay and minimum stage troubles that endlessly entails every gig. But part of that equation is you guys, the audience. Be prompt too, please?

Stay tuned for the set times in the next coming days.

Who Are Us?

About The Organizers
One Night Stand is a meeting of two individuals who are passionate about music in all its multifaceted forms. One of them a proprietor of a rehearsal space (Hacienda Music), the other only recently interested in documenting music (Super Stellar Sound); both of them have done time playing in various bands and seen all the best and the worst the scene has to offer.

Having played through countless gigs and big shows which are poorly organized and sometimes downright disrespectful to the playing acts, Hacienda Music and Super Stellar Sound decided to do things their way by producing shows the way they see fit – with respect, love and excitement. The idea behind One Night Stand is to give the audience the best bang for the buck and also bestow the band with a platform worth their music.

ONE NIGHT STAND @ KL JamAsia, 3rd June 2006

Hacienda Music together with Super Stellar Sound Recordings is pleased to announce the launch of a new season of shows entitled "One Night Stand" to take place only 4 times throughout the year 2006.

The inaugural show to be held at KL JamAsia would see select bands presenting their material within the time frame of one hour, while the chosen openers gets to tease the audience with a half hour set. The extended set time, a rarity in the local scene, is an opportunity for bands to really flex their musical muscle and showcase songs they never got around to perform in a standard gig environment due to time constraints. It is also a chance for fans (or friends) to catch their favourite bands playing in an intimate and close setting.

The line-up includes the eclectic Seven Collar T-Shirt, expected to road test their newer songs in a 60-minute set as the final act of the night. Also getting their one hour fix is the ever danceable musical troupe Bittersweet, recently playing the set of their lives and in return impressing the crowd of hundreds attending the Radio Malaya launch party at KLPAC. Lastly the final band given the honour of playing a one hour show are the self-proclaimed 'bright kids' Lucy In The Loo. Just two months into promoting the newly released EP 'Sugar High', Lucy in the Loo will be playing the whole album material and then some more to adoring fans.

Don't forget the show openers! There are two bands given the chance to outshine the more established and well-polished acts. The first band to serve notice is Radioflyer, hailing from Klang. Giving out laid back British rock vibes ala The Music and Oasis, this is a band to watch out for in the future with their sweet melodies and enthusiastic showmanship. The second band on the opening track is April, a five piece band from Cyberjaya. Despite their debut EP giving a nod to their post-rock influences, they have refused to be pigeonholed as one and continue to tread new grounds in search of an identity that can only be called ‘April Music’.

Tickets for the Saturday 3rd June show are available at the door for RM15, inclusive of one drink. Doors open at 7.15pm and the first scheduled act would begin promptly at 7.30pm.
